A yearly inspection for the Inca Trail license

This last weeks we have been very busy prepairing for our yearly inspection to re-new our Inca Trail Operator´s License. This is an important event every year and we take pride in making sure our equipment is in top condition and our tourists have the best possible exeperience on the Inca Trail. There are many companies offering tours in Cusco, but most of them are recruiting companies who pass their tourists on to other agencies. We are proud to say that we stay with our customers during every step of their tour to Machu Picchu or around Cusco.

The requirements to obtain an Inca Trail license are extensive. Each company must have enough equipment to cover groups of 16 hikers and 22 porters. This means a minimun of 8 tents, a dining tent with kitchen equipment, a bathroom tent, and 16 mattresses. We also need to supply duffle bags, rain panchos, warm jackets, shoes, good backpacks, safty belts, and flashlights for our hard-working Porters. All of our equipment has the Inti Sun Trek logo to prove that it belongs to us, and it not on loan from another company. Unfortunatly, many companies are dishonest about what they supply for their tourists and Porters. They show the inspectors good equipment for their Porters, but you will find their Porters on the Inca Trail doing without the equipment. At Inti Sun Trek, we make sure our Inca-blood Porters are well taken care of. Over the past weeks our office team of Ludvania, Diego, and Johan have been hard at work organizing our equipment and making sure it is all acconted for and in good condition. When you take your tour on the Inca Trail or an alternative trek, check for our logo on everything. You will find it!

Another step we have taken is to provide our tourists with biodegradable soap on our treks. This is a small step towards honoring our environment and our ancestor's deity, Pachamama, or "Mother Earth".

We take pride in going above and beyond the requirements placed on us by the Peruvian Law. We think of our yearly inspection as an oppurtunity to show that we are a company above the rest. Just look at those shiny tents!
