Wiñay Wayna Campsite

f you are planning to do the Inca Trail trek, make sure that there are still 150 Inca Trail permits available for the date you want. Otherwise you may not be able to camp at the Wiñay Wayna campsite.
Wiñay Wayna is one of the campsites on the Inca Trail nearest to Machu Picchu. Camping at Wiñay Wayna will allow you to arrive at Machu Picchu in time to witness sunrise on the last day of the Inca Trail.
New laws have been introduced that limit the number of people permitted to stay at the Wiñay Wayna campsite. Therefore, the Wiñay Wayna campsite can never be guaranteed for clients who make their reservation with less than 150 spots available for the desired date.
To avoid missing out on a chance to stay at the beautiful Wiñay Wayna campsite, you should check on the internet for the Inca Trail availability before you reserve the date you want.
This problem only occurs with the campsite for the third night of the trek. On the first two nights, there are plenty of options for places to camp. Wiñay Wayna is the most beautiful and the smallest campsite on the tour, therefore it always gets booked up first.
What happens if Wiñay Wayna is not available when I book the Inca Trail? If the Wiñay Wayna campsite is already full when you book your trek, you will continue to Aguas Calientes on the third day and spend this night in a hostel/hotel.
Does the price of the trek change if I spend the 3rd night in Aguas Calientes?
If you have to spend the night in Aguas Calientes, the price will obviously increase, but we offer a deal. We will pay for your lodging, dinner, and breakfast in Aguas Calientes, and also for your bus ticket to Aguas Calientes from Machu Picchu. You will only need to pay for your round trip bus from Aguas Calientes back to Machu Picchu on the following day. The bus ticket costs U.S. $24 per person.

The positive side of this option is that you will get to see Machu Picchu twice!

You will visit Machu Picchu in the afternoon on the third day at the Sun Gate, and again in the morning on the last day. The overall price of the trek will not change, you will just have to pay for your round trip bus tickets.
What will happen to my duffle bags if i chose to take this option?
The porters will carry your belongings for a longer distance down to your hostel in Aguas Calientes. You will then have the option on the fourth day of leaving your duffle  bags in the hostel in Aguas Calientes, and picking it up before you catch your afternoon train back to Cusco.

Which hostel does Inti Sun Trek book in Aguas Calientes?

We will book a basic but comfortable hostel for you with hot water and WiFi. If you wish, you may uprgrade your accommodation to a hotel
