Special Offers: Don't miss out on doing this

1 day tour of Andahuaylillas, The Four Lagoons and The Qeswachaca Inca Bridge

This tour will take you to some little known but amazing attractions within the Cusco region. On this tour you will visit the Andahuaylillas, which is a small village famous for its Sistine chapel, four beautiful and vast lagoons of the highlands of Pomacanchi and the famous and ancient Inca bridge made of vegetable fibre named Qeswachaqa. This tour is not common, but it is incredible and gives you the opportunity to interract with local indigenous communities who don't see many tourists and help sustain their communities.

Our meeting point will be at the main doorway of Cusco's cathedral from 6:40am to 7:00am-. We will then travel by bus through some of Cusco's neighbourhoods along the way until we will reach Andahuaylillas, which is a small village famous for its Sistine chapel. There you can see beautiful murals of traditional Cusquenian art, amazing embroidery, and carved altars. After that we will travel for an hour and a half to Yanaoca. The Yanaoca District is one of eight districts in the Canas Province in Peru. We will then continue our journey for one more hour to the famous Inca bridge, Qeswachaca (3,700msn/1221ft). Our Inca ancestors have constructed this bridge out of vegetable fibre and it is currently still used and reconstructed once a year in the month of June by 4 local communities. We will spend some time exploring Qeswachaca and the surrounding area while your guide tells you all the history about Qeswachaca. Then will stop to have lunch. After lunch we will drive through the lagoons of Pampamarca , Asnacqoccha and Acopia. There is a lot of flora and fauna to be seen along the way, along with beautiful scenery and plenty of Andean culture. After a brief visit to each of the lagoons we will visit the community and lagoon of Pomacamchi, which lies 107 km south of Cusco. It takes approximately one hour in a van from Queswacha bridge to reach it. We will see many beautiful views of the Pomacanchi lagoon at an elevation of 3679m/1214ft. We will then return to Cusco in our private transport and this will take 2 hours, arriving in Cusco at approximately 6:00pm.

Important: If you still have your boleto turistico (Tourist Ticket) we can visit Pikillacta, a well-preserved archaeological site from the Wari period (a pre-Inca culture). This ancient walled city is extremely interesting, and you will be amazed by walking through the outer wall, which is like a miniature version of the Great Wall of China.
